Indigenous People

Welcome home to the International College of Integrative Medicine!

Canada is the second-largest country in the world yet it is one of the most sparsely populated. Canadians are proud of their multicultural society which is welcoming to immigrant populations, and enjoys intellectual capital and natural resources equaled by few other countries. Dublin-born writer Anna Brownell Jameson, who explored central Ontario in 1837 and remarked exultantly on “the seemingly interminable line of trees before you; the boundless wilderness around you; the mysterious depths amid the multitudinous foliage.”

Canada has a rich heritage of Indigenous Peoples, including Metis, Inuit (formerly known as Eskimo), and First Nations such as the Anishinaabe, Algonquin, Nipissing, Ojibwa, Mississaugas,  Saulteaux, Oji-cree, Ottawa (Odawa), Potawatomi, Cree and Innu (Montagnais and Naskapi).

We are delighted to welcome you to Toronto with an art card from a Native owned Company called Sa-Cinn, whose mission is to help First Nations artists gain national and international exposure. See more of their beautiful works of art at www.sa-cinn.com.

May our learning bring us closer to healing on behalf of the children of the world, and the future of humanity.
